 1. We have already booked a DJ! - Can we just book a lighting solution?

Answer: YES!

Our 'Lighting Hire' division can accommodate all your lighting requirements for your event. Our LED mood lighting is very popular and can be installed indoor and outdoor.

Our 'Lighting Hire' team will install a lighting solution to bring the most out of your chosen venue no matter how large or small your function. 

Our team is always available to help you make the right decision and discuss your options.

 

 


 

 2. What is 'mood' lighting and what is the cost?

Answer:

We supply 'mood' lighting to transform any chosen venue and make it truly individual complementing your colour schemes, themes and taste.

Our professional LED 'Mood' lighting effects can be set in any colour from modern 'Hot Pinks' and 'Funky Deep Purples' to subtle Greens and Ivory's giving a touch of class. 

Whether you want an ultra-modern exciting dance zone or a glittering ballroom with subtle lighting displays, our ‘Pick and Mix’ approach to sound and visual effects allows us to maximise your entertainment budget and ensure your party is truly unique.

3. How do we pay and when?

 Answer: Before the event starts.

We will email or post you a booking confirmation. This needs to be signed and returned along with any holding deposit as requested.

THE DEPOSIT:

Two Options:

  • Paid by cheque (Cheques payable to 'Matt Potter')
  • Paid by Credit/Debit Card via secure 'PayPal'. (The link can be found on our website.)

THE BALANCE:

The balance is payable in cleared funds before the event starts.

Two options:

  • Before the function by cheque or via Secure 'PayPal' on our website - We require cleared funds 7 working days before the function date.
  • During installation in CASH only.

Please note: Cheques on the day or after the event are not acceptable unless previously agreed.

 


4. How much is the deposit?

Answer:

Your deposit is required to secure your date. This will be detailed on the official confirmation we email you to sign and return. The deposit is usually a £100.00 or 20% of the total fee, whichever the greater.

 


 

5. Do your DJs accept playlists and take requests?

Answer: YES!

Yes we encourage playlists! (Large playlists may be charged for if tunes need to be purchased especially)

When you proceed with a DJ booking your confirmation will include a place to add a 'playlist'. This can be included with the signed confirmation or at a later date within 3 weeks of the function date. 

We also encourage your guests requests during the evening, after-all it's your party! 

PLEASE NOTE: We are a company that is renowned for 'keeping it cool' - our DJs will use common sense and discretion. Unfortunately the 'Birdie Song and Agadoo' are really not always suitable and NEVER cool!!!!

 

 


 

 

6.Can your DJs play a specific type of music all evening?

Answer: YES!

We have a great selection of DJs.

Some DJs, like doctors, specialise! We have 'Doctors of Music' of all styles for specialist evenings and events including:

Electro, D&B, 70's, 80's, 90's, Funk, Cuban, Big Band & Swing, Jazz, Motown, Soul, RnB, Rock, Northern Soul, Indie, Dance, Deep House, Old Skool, Funky House, Acid Jazz, Latin, Salsa, Love...! The list goes on.

7. Does the DJ talk or just mix the great music?

Answer: Its totally your choice!

All Djs will have a microphone and will make announcements for you if required. However, we won't talk all over the music and attempt and 'witty' banter...we let the music do the talking. 

 


 

8. How long does the DJ set last?

Answer: Your choice!

Our standard DJ set lasts 4 HOURS. ie: 8pm to 12am. Extra hours can be booked if required either at the time of booking or with a 'Top Up' confirmation.

If your DJ is playing alongside live entertainment this will be included in the DJs set time, even though he is not actually 'Mixing'.

If you are having your sound and lighting equipment installed prior to the event, we can sometimes arrange for your DJ to arrive later and 'shift the set' ie: 10pm till 2am - Call for details.

For large events & all day events we recommend a background music system to help ' fill the gaps', this is cheaper than paying for extra DJ hours or live entertainment and much more flexible. Please see our 'sound hire' page.

9. Can we meet you before the event?

Answer: YES!

Although most of our arrangements can be done via email and post, we can arrange for you to meet your Organiser/DJ/MC/Artist before your event. This is popular when organising large functions and large weddings. The meeting will be arranged for a time to suit you and we can also visit you at the event venue before the date to confirm arrangements. For this service you will usually be charged extra.

 

 


 

 

10. How much do you charge?

Answer: All of our packages are bespoke. Price is determined by the size of your function, how many services you require, how long you require them and logistics.

*Guideline Prices:

Professional Corporate/Club DJ's: From *£200 per evening

Professional Wedding DJ's: From *£250.00 per evening

Speech PA Systems: From *£65.00 per evening

DJ Sound Systems: From *£50.00 per evening

iPod Discos: From *£99.00 per hire (24 Hours)

DIY Discos: From *£125.00 per hire (24 Hours)

Background Speaker systems: From *£20 per evening (Ideal for dinner music)

Dance Floor Lighting solutions: From *£30.00 per evening

Evening Photographer: From *£150.00

Event assistants: £75.00

Professional Security: From £100 per evening per guard.

*Prices are sometimes subject to delivery and collection charges depending on timing and venue location.

11. We have been offered a cheaper 'Mobile Disco' - can you match this price?

 

We realise that whilst looking for a DJ for your event you will receive quotes ranging from £100 to £1000.

However, our fees have been carefully worked out taking into account our experience, your solution, entertainment insurances & income tax. We are a legitimate entertainment business and pride ourselves on professionalism and reliability - everything considered we are positive we represent excellent value for money.

If you have a small budget then our advice is to consider our 'iPod Disco' or 'DIY Disco' packages - Excellent value for money - Cut the cost NOT the quality - Bad DJs ruin Big Days.

12. When do you set up and install the equipment?

Answer: To suit you!

It depends on the type of event, size of your solution, our schedule and venue location. A common request, especially for weddings and lighting installations is for a morning set up. This can easily be built into your package price.

  


 

13. Do you sub work out to other DJ/Disco companies?

Answer: NO NEVER!

Beware of network companies who share work & entertanment brokers - You never know what and who is going to arrive on your important day!

At 'Potter Group' we always:

  • Use our own sound and lighting equipment
  • Use our own DJs (who are individually selected to suit every function)
  • We always install the sound and lighting solution you as requested....and nothing more! (no cheese!)
Our system enables us to maintain our high service level and secure our strong established reputation.

14. We have already booked your DJ services and note your standard DJ performance time is 4 hours - Can we add extra hour(s)?

Answer: YES!

Our standard charge for the DJ performance is £50.00 per hour. However, this charge does depend on the DJ and venue location. Please call us to discuss your individual requirements.

We can also supply background music systems for early evening entertainment. This option may be more flexible and cost effective - These systems can be supplied from just £20.00.
